The drought is on everyone’s mind, in the news and on social media and the negative effects spread throughout the community. Willow Tree Public School is holding a day to build positive relationships between small schools and their communities, inviting 100 school children from small schools in the area and the community to take part. Damien Schofield, founder and director of the Younger Heros, himself a former student of Willow Tree Public School, will kick the day off with a free talk from 9am to 9.45 am. He will talk about mental health, positive lookout and mentoring and the Young Heroes project. Damien will hold workshops throughout the days on how to overcome fear, bullying and goal setting. The day will also touch on mindfulness and teamwork and how to embrace a positive lookout.
Thanks to the Willow Tree P&C, Farming for Kids and the Willow Tree Lions Club, this day is free for parents and the public. Please call the school to register: 6747 1371.
