Browse the stalls, join in the fun and games, stroll the First Fleet Memorial Gardens or simply sit back and relax to the live bands. A great day for the family! Australia Day Activities Contact: Shaen Fraser (02) 6746 3122 Various Australia Day activities and ceremonies are held within the Shire. Activities include games, bands, fireworks, competitions and much more.

Westpac Helicopter Fundraising Ball, Quirindi – (Date TBA) Contact: Lindsay Maybury (02) 6746 1394 This annual event is a semi formal dinner dance with loads of entertainment. All proceeds go to the Westpac Helicopter appeal.

Willow Tree Dog Trials – (Date TBA) Contact: Helen Swain (02) 6747 1257 Be amazed at the prowess of these skilfully trained dogs as they demonstrate what they are renowned for.

Quirindi Rural Heritage Village Rally & Swap Meet – May 5th & 6th Contact: Beryl Mannion (02) 6746 1479 Featuring international (tractors, engines etc), vintage tractors, engines, steam engines, cars, motorbikes and displays, operating blacksmiths shop and miniature trains. Events include tractor pull, Main Street procession, scarecrow competition, pumpkin bowling, working demonstrations, tractor events, sheep shearing, wood chop, rally dinner and entertainment. Catering and bush camping facilities available.

NSW Polocrosse Club Championships, Quirindi – June Contact: Hayden Turnbull (02) 6768 7443 This is the largest event in the NSW Polocrosse Calendar for 2007. Approximately 80 teams will be competing over 3 days.

Willow Tree Public School 125th Anniversary – August 24th – 26th Contact: Merv Warne (02) 6747 1531 Come join the celebrations of Willow Tree Public Schools momentous milestone. Whether or not you’re linked to the school, it promises to be a gala event for all. Prime Stock, Quirindi – August 29th – 31st Contact: Troy Setter (02) 6746 1700 A major producer show with heifers, steers, pigs and lambs judged in various categories then auctioned off. School students from around the region partake and are judged also.

Then take a stroll through the cottage and observe the times gone by. Werris Creek Festival – September 29th Contact: Judy Moyer (02) 6768 7699 Join in the festivities as Werris Creek showcases its historic railway village. Street stalls, entertainment, aerobatics display, Mine tours, helicopter rides, parade, fireworks and lots more.

Willow Tree Bushmans Carnival/Campdraft (75th Anniversary) – October 6th & 7th Contact: Neil Green (02) 6747 1474 Watch some of the finest horse work as competitors ‘cut out’ beasts and guide them through a designated course in a matter of moments. You will be amazed at the skill of both horse and rider. A street parade will take place on the 6th.
